Since 2013,
I've built multiple businesses, experienced success, navigated failure, and finally discovered something I wish someone had told me years ago: building the right business for the market isn't the goal. Building the right business for the founder, is.
Entrepreneurship has never been about learning how to build businesses. It's about learning which business you were meant to build. Most founders don't fail because they're incapable; they fail because they spend years trying to sustain businesses that were never aligned with the way they naturally think, create, lead, or solve problems.
I spent nearly a decade growing my first company, Evergreen Bride, into a nationally recognized wedding floral brand. From the outside, it looked like success. Behind the scenes, I was building a business that depended on me becoming someone I wasn't. When that chapter ended, I began the most important work of my career—not rebuilding a business, but understanding myself.
That journey eventually led to a deeper understanding of my own wiring and transformed the way I approached leadership, creativity, and business. I rebuilt differently, and finally discovered that businesses thrive when they're designed around the founder—not the other way around.
That's why it's called Founders AcademI. The capital I isn't just part of the name; it is the necessary beginning of a healthy business. If you do not know yourself, you are not yet ready to ask the world to know your business. Before there is a we...there is an I. Before there is a team...there is a founder.
